Roaming

I am travelling in Mexico… have the airplane mode on, using my wifi at home, celular data off, roming data off and I keep getting text from Koodo that roaming started runjing for my ohone number and I will be charged unless I have a plan or pass. This is everyvtume I travel and I am gettingvtired of this. Customer service is impossible to contact. Help plase!

That text is the generic roaming welcome notification, it doesn't mean you're actually being charged. Incoming texts never trigger a fee as long as data and data roaming are off and you don't make or answer calls or send outgoing texts. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/understanding-how-youll-be-charged-while-travelling

 

Have you checked your usage in self serve? any actual Easy Roam charge would show up there. If one does show up, there's a bill review tool in self serve you can use to dispute it.

Do you mean a message from Koodo when you arriving outside of Canada like this?

"Koodo: Welcome to Japan! You have Easy Roam with a daily charge of $18. You'll only be charged on days you access your Canadian plan's data, send a text, make or answer a call, or check voicemail. Easy Roam will be valid until 11:59pm local time in the destination where you are travell"
