plan not working

Hello, I just changed my plan to a Canada-US-Mexico roaming with data, talk and texts 100 GB of Shock-Free data at 5G speed And Unlimited International SMS. I just travelled to Mexico recently and my date/plan has not been working. What can I do ?

Hi there,

To confirm, did you receive the confirmation email after changing the plan / does the plan show on your line now in self-serve?

If yes to both, try restarting your device and see if it connects to the network and lets you use your calling, texting, and data. When you change your plan, it’s best to give your phone a reboot as sometimes errors like this can pop-up when you change your plan or add-ons. 

Also, ensure that roaming is turned on in your device settings and that the carrier selection setting is set to automatic.

Hello, thank you.

yes I have tried to reset my phone. The plan is showing up in my self service and I have received the confirmation email when I first switched it. I have tried to do the ai chat but it has not been hopeful at all.

hmm ok. And when you checked your device settings does it show that roaming / data roaming is turned on? Is it all of your plan features not working (calling texting and data) or is it just the data that isn’t working?

Can you check your Self-Serve account to see if you have included the International Voice Roaming and International Data Roaming add-ons? Have you enabled Easy Roam?

I have roaming turned on. Yes it’s all of the features that are not working.

I see. When you go to your device settings under carrier selection, instead of being on Automatic (the default), can you switch it to manual and see if there are carrier options that show up that you can select?

When you select one of the options, do you find that it connects to the network or does it still not work? If it doesn’t, can you make sure you have the international voice and data roaming add ons in your koodo self serve.
