Perk Scam

Recently, I was looking at the available options for perks. I never confirmed the one about international calls, and yet they added it to my account and they’re now charging me for that. You can even see I never used it and haven’t been even in Canada these days!!

I hate it when Koodo plays these tricks.

Hi there,

did you speak to a rep about changing the perks or were you looking on your Koodo self serve account? Did this add as a second perk on your account? If so, can you provide a screen shot of the 2 perks? Make sure to remove any personal info, if any, when posting the image as this is a public platform.

I was checking it online through self serve. I selected it as I only wanted to know if it’s possible to add perks online in a simple way. But when it was saying “confirm changes”, I closed my browser. I never confirmed the changes. 

I don’t have screenshots because I wasn’t expecting that they were going to add it to my account. I’m not in Canada, so I can’t even call Koodo. It’s really dishonest that when you find out your options, suddenly they charge you as if you were giving consent.

We understand that you didn’t take any screenshot ​@anuser and we can assure you that we want to help. 

What we would like to ask is if you can follow the same steps that you followed back then when it the perk was added, and share a screenshot with us here of the step/page that triggered the perk addition back then. Don't worry, we will check after  and remove it right away if this gets added without your confirmation.

We want to make sure this is further looked into by the support team if it turns out there is any issue, as the system is not supposed to add any add on or feature without your confirmation.

I had cancelled the add-on. Now I followed the same steps, you can see on the first picture that it says “confirm changes”. I closed the browser without confirming. On the next pic, you can see that the perk was added without my consent.

Now I cancelled it again. But they will charge for the previous month but also for today to replicate the issue. I can’t call so that they give me the money back since I’m not in Canada. So how the problem will be solved?

Thank you for the screenshots ​@anuser, it’s odd that the perk would be added without the final confirmation. 

We’ve credited the $5 + tax partial charge (for the Mar 25 To Apr 09 period) for the add-on on your April 9 bill. You’ve successfully cancelled the add-on on April 14, which resulted in a pending credit of $8.33 + tax, which you will see on the May bill. 

The other test you made today also resulted in a charge plus a pending credit of $8 + tax. You will see both the charge and the credit on the May bill as well. 

We’ve added a credit to your account that will fully cover the charges, ($10 - $8.33 and tax + $10 - $8 and tax + the $5 and tax mentioned above) $8.67 and tax, for a total of $9.1 to your current total. 

You will the rest of the pending credits detailed above on your May bill. If, once the May bill is issued you see any other discrepancies you can message us here.
