MMS & SMS, what are they ?

I have recently added unlimited Long-distance (to the USA and International) calling/texting, to my phone plan.  My new plan now mentions Unlimited MMS and SMS.  Is this the USA and International calling features ?

    SMS is texting.  MMS is picture messaging
