Koodo Home Internet retention?

I am a Koodo monthly plan user and have had home internet for the past 8 months (I pay $35 plus taxes for 100 Mbps after a $30 discount for having mobile plan, $5 until January 2027). The other day Rogers called me and offered me a home internet deal for $40 plus taxes (500 Mbps, 2-year contract, $100 bill credit). I am thinking about it, but before that, is there any retention available with Koodo in this case? I am not looking for any bill credit, but may be switch to 500 Mbps for the same price or an extra $5 to match Rogers? Just checking to see others' experiences in a similar situation. Thanks!

Koodo Internet is subscription based with no fixed term contract, and I haven't really seen retention style offers on it. The price is whatever is showing for your address, and eligibility and speeds vary by address, so I would put your address into https://www.koodomobile.com/en/shop/internet/plans/koodo-internet and see whether a 500 Mbps tier is even offered where you are and at what price, then compare that against what you have now. Keep in mind the $30 mobile discount goes away if you move your internet to Rogers.

As well, in some areas, Koodo Internet runs on the Telus network, so it's worth looking at what Telus offers directly, there is a bundle credit for Koodo mobility customers https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/bundle-and-save-with-telus-home-services

    Yes, Koodo does offer the 500 Tier at my address, but as of now the price is $100 for the 500 Tier and also no discounts whatsoever. Even if I want to switch to 500 on self-serve, it’s $90. Also, I noticed they got rid of the 100 Mbps plan in many provinces, and the only plans available are either 500 Mbps or Gigabit ($100 and $110, respectively). I think I am going to stay with Koodo as I have a very good plan already (even with $5 off coming to an end in Jan. 2027) and I really don’t see any difference with 100 Mbps so far; everything is seamless. As for Rogers, it’s a contract and comes with a cancellation fee of $15 per month up to $360 max. The only reason to consider Rogers is for 500 Mbps speed, but I already feel seamless with 100 Mbps.
