To confirm, are you asking about activating the pass while travelling using iMessage to do it or if iMessage will work if you have the pass?
As long as your plan includes data, you have a good cellular connection in the spot you're travelling, and you have data roaming turned on in your device settings, you should have no problems using iMessage with the EasyRoam Travel Pass as it uses data or wifi to send messages.
If you're looking to activate the travel pass when travelling, when you send the message it will send as an SMS message. iMessage only sends from apple device to apple device.
Once the message is sent, the pass will be added. If you're worried about charges from sending the message, you can also add the pass through your koodo self-serve under Add-on's.
