Question

Easy Roam vs upgrading plan to Can/US

I’m going to be taking a 7 day vacation to the United States next month and currently I’m on a Canada only plan for 40$.  From what i understand my options are:

  1. Easy Roam $14 / Day when activated (potentially $98 for the entirety of the trip)
  2. Switch to Canada/USA plan for $65 / month

I guess my question is are there any extra fees or issues I would run into if I were to switch to the Canada/US plan for the month and then switch back once I’ve returned that would make it more expensive than just using the Easy Roam and potentially racking up a $98 bill.

Thanks

The $65 plan is cheaper compared to $40+98. However you would have to choose an “in market” plan when you come.back to Canada.
There should not be any extra fee if you switch plan yourself in selfserve

Thanks

Does “in market plan” mean whatever plans that are available at the time I return?

That’s correct! That means any plan that you can get as an existing customers, because many of the promo plans are for new customers only.

Also the easy roam triggers when you send a text ,  marke/receive calls, or using data.

If you don't use it, you don't get charged.

I always contact my families and friends through messenger while I'm outside Canada. ( Wifi only. No data connection and airplane mode on) It's a good way to avoid roaming charges.
