On April 8, 2026 I added “3-day Easy Roam International”, but I do not see it listed in my current list of perks.
I will soon be going to Europe, so I thought I’d check the status of everything. In my free add-on perks, I have “Easy Roam International”, “International Data Roaming” and “International Voice Roaming”. No mention of any 3-day Easy Roam.
I want to confirm what I do have and what I’m entitled to when abroad. I don’t want to be dinged with fees when travelling. It was my understanding that 3-day easy roam meant I could use my phone for three 24hour days as part of my package, but I wanted to confirm. Now I’m not clear if I even have this 3 day package.

What perk is active when you look in your self serve account?
If you do not see it, try changing to a different perk and then changing back to the 3 day roaming perk

The days are for calendar days. So if you roam at 11pm, then by 11:59pm, you will have used 1 of the 3 days.
Note that the 3 day roaming perk does not stack with the travel passes. So you can use 1 or the other, but not both.

I foolishly wasn’t looking in the right spot. It is listed.
I do want to know how it works. I assume the second you connect to local cell system (Europe in this case), that is day 1. So if I roam for 5 minutes on Monday, 10 minutes on Wednesday and 5 minutes on Thursday, that’s my free 3-day international roaming used up.
Of course, I can continue to be roaming all those days, as long as I don’t go past midnight local time.
Is that correct?
Lastly, do I just turn off airplane mode to connect or do I need to do anything special before leaving Canada or arriving in Europe?

Roaming for the perk is based on Easy Roam rules. So any data or talk used and any sms sent will trigger roaming. Solely connecting to a roaming network if you do any of the following will not count as roaming.

The article above will help prevent you from roaming.
Turning on airplane mode is a good method, so it taking out your sim card.
Or you can leave your phone on, but disabled your data and make sure you dont send any sms or use any talk. But this is riskier can there may be accidental use (knowingly or unknowingly through a rogue app or unknown function of the phone)
Thank you. I spoke to someone at Koodo and they gave me an example for any future viewers of this thread.
While I’m in Europe, I have 3 days worth of texting, data and phone calls. If I’m in Spain, I can call and text locally AND call text Canada. If I call or text Italy, I pay. Data limits during those 3 days equal whatever they are in Canada.
If your billing cycle ends during your trip, you will get another set of 3 days. Also if you do not use your 3 days when your billing period ends, then you lose them.
I would highly recommend you check the travel passes. They are a very decent deal to use your plan and number while in Europe stress free.
Even a better deal would be to check what local offer there are for prepaid on https://prepaid-data-sim-card.fandom.com/wiki/Prepaid_SIM_with_data depending on the country you land in. Most of the time, it’s cheaper then whatever Koodo is going to offer and you can use them all around Europe.
But then, if you’re leaving for 5 days only, Koodo’s option might be better for you. Leaving 4 weeks? Look for local options.
Europe has two travel pass options: a 14-day travel pass and a 30-day travel pass. Each travel pass has its own cost, duration and text code.
To get a 14-day Easy Roam Travel Pass (cost of $50): Text EU14PASS to 7626
To get a 30-day Easy Roam Travel Pass (cost of $60): Text EU30PASS to 7626
Comparing that to France as an example, for 20€ (roughly 30$) you would get unlimited everything + 150GB of data.
