You can just definitely switch from Easy Roam, which costs about 18 dollars a day in places like France, to an Easy Roam Travel Pass.

EUROPE 14 DAY or 30 DAY TRAVEL PASS:

Europe has two travel pass options: a 14-day travel pass and a 30-day travel pass. Each travel pass has its own cost, duration and text code.

To get a 14-day Easy Roam Travel Pass (cost of $50): Text EU14PASS to 7626

To get a 30-day Easy Roam Travel Pass (cost of $60): Text EU30PASS to 7626

To switch, just wait for your current daily charge to end since an active pass blocks new ones.

Thank you. Is the daily charge time Canadian or French time? i.e. 11.59 here in France or in Canada where my account is.

I believe l have found out it is local time - as long as AI is right when searching the Community.

Yes that is correct. What counts as a day is until 11:59PM local time. After which, the next day of the pass begins. 🙂

Thank you. Hoping that l wait until at least 11.59 pm or later here, then add a Europe Travel Pass and all will be fine. Daily Easy Roam is convenient but costly when here for longer than intended.

Yeah, that’s a good idea since the day is already paid for. If you have problems with the pass, you can feel free to message here and we can help.

I agree. The daily fee is ok when its necessary but it’s nice that they have the passes now. It was just the daily fee for a long time, so it is a step in the right direction which is nice. Especially in circumstances like yours. 😅

You should’ve went with a local SIM, way cheaper then any option Koodo might be offering. Although, it’s a hassle if you’ve never set it up before.

Had gone with data sim and wifi connections which, as when travelling in the past, worked well, until an accident turned everything on its head and calls were needed.

Well l did as suggested waiting until 11.59 pm then texted for a Europass, got a text back to say it was added, and it is in my add ons but shows as $0. How can l found out if it is actually active? Do l check via Usage next day? I did get the “standard” email about mid bill additions, pro rating, etc.

Just confused that the cost doesn’t show in my add ons. Thank you, knowledgeable people!

If you saw the add‑on (I assume it wasn’t the normal easyroam that you are referring to - even if it showed $0) and received the confirmation text, then the add‑on is active. Unfortunately, Koodo doesn’t have a tool to show how many days you have left.

Once you start roaming, you’ll need to count 14 or 30 days from that first usage to determine the final coverage date. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/europe-easy-roam-travel-passes?

I was already Easy Roaming when it became obvious we would be here longer than expected and a Pass is more cost effective, as long as it is now active and trumps $18 a day…! Number of days used is least of our worries just now and we know when we hope it has started

Thank you for your response.  All help is appreciated.

Download Fongo and you can make calls to any Canadian number using VoIP and getting called back on the same number as well.

To spread options out, there's also TextNow and Talkatone for preferences.
