Does wifi calling work internationally

I am currently on Fido and was looking to move to Koodo. But before I move, I wanted to know if Koodo supports International Wi-Fi calling. I travel quite a lot and would prefer not to incur any roaming charges while making calls over WiFi internationally.

Hey,

Nope, Wi-Fi calling doesn’t work internationally on Koodo. It only functions in Canada. Once you leave the country, your phone won’t allow Wi-Fi calls or messaging, even if you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

For international calls without roaming charges, you’d need the “pay per use international long distance” add-on, or use a VoIP app over Wi-Fi instead. Bit of a bummer if you’re traveling a lot; Fido does offer this feature, so worth comparing if that’s a dealbreaker for you.

Thanks for the fast response. Definitely a deal breaker for me. I wish Koodo supported it.

Unfortunately only a handful of carriers support it. The allure of roaming charges is too great for most.
