Canada-US-Mexico: Only within a country or also between?

QUESTION: Are long-distance calls made FROM Canada TO the UNITED STATES included in the Canada-US-Mexico roaming plan?BACKGROUND: I just signed up for this plan with the help of a Koodo agent and when I told them I make phone calls from Canada to the US (and only to the US), the agent instructed me to select the Unlimited Long Distance Pack as my perk.CONCERN: I turned up documents on the Koodo site that suggest you can call/text/data both within and BETWEEN the three countries, which would counter the need for the Unlimited Long Distance Pack and contradict the agent’s advice.BOTTOM LINE: I don’t trust the Koodo documentation, as I have been mis-led before by incorrect information that hasn’t been updated.

You can make calls and send SMS from Canada/US/Mexico to Canada/US/Mexico interchangeably.Please note though that any other international add-ons like the Long Distance Calling Pack perk are only eligible in Canada, not the US or Mexico.

Canada US Mexico plans cover usage within those countries, so your talk, text, and data work seamlessly in Canada, the US, or Mexico without any extra roaming fees. Still, calling from Canada to the US or Mexico counts as long distance and needs the Unlimited Long Distance Pack add-on since it is not included in base plans. The roaming is for when you are physically there, not for cross border calls from home. You’ll want to add the pack via self serve if you call often.
