Question

Can I renew the 360 day $149 plan that no longer exists on the website?

I am currently on an active 360 day $149 plan.  I have sufficient funds in the account to renew this plan.  I see on the website, that this plan is no longer available, and there is only a $159 plan that is not available to existing customers.

What happens when my $149 plan ends?  Will it automatically renew, at $149 and use the funds I have in the account?  If so, can you please specify where I can find this in writing?

Also, when I login to the account, there are no buttons or actions where you can renew, or select what type of renewal you want.  Am I missing something, or will it just automatically renew the same $149 plan that no longer exists on the website.  Again, if you could please specify where I can find this info in writing.

Thanks

Discontinued plans generally stay on the line that already has them — what shows on the website is what's available for new activations, it doesn't replace what you're on. Old plans just can't be added to a new number later.

For the renewal itself, prepaid draws from your available funds at the end of the cycle, so with enough in the account I would let it renew on the day and check Self Serve after. If it doesn't go through, you can renew the plan manually in Self Serve. More on funds and top-ups here: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/topping-your-prepaid-account

Getting it in writing is the part the forum can't really do — support for prepaid here is limited

As well, if Koodo ever does change the price of your plan, they have to notify you at least 30 days ahead through a message on your bill and in your Self Serve account.

@bt101 You’re correct. If you have sufficient funds in your account, Koodo will attempt to auto renew the existing plan unless you choose to change it prior to the renewal date or if the account closes due to non-payment. After which you can’t choose the plan again as it is no longer offered. For the closest thing for “in writing” of this, you can refer to the link under “renewing your prepaid plan”. Just for you instead of every 30 days, it would be 360 days as that is the duration of your plan.

To renew the plan, you just need sufficient funds in the account. Once the plan expires after the 360th day, the system will try to renew it by either pulling funds that have been added to the account or via pre-authorised payment if it has been setup. That is why there is no “renew” button per say. Even if you miss the payment, you have 90 days to renew the plan again, and if not, the account closes.

The plan you have is no longer being sold in market, but that is fine. You will be able to continue to renew this plan unless the account closes, you change the plan to a different one, or if Koodo communicate with you that they will no longer offer the plan at the next renewal. 👍
