I will be traveling for 6 weeks to Hong Kong, Korea, and maybe Japan to see family.

I want to use the 14 day Asia travel pass, how does it work to extend it beyond 14 days?

You can just’t extend a single Asia 14 Day Pass because it is fixed at 14 consecutive days for 70 dollars. It covers unlimited calls and texts plus your plan data in eligible spots like Hong Kong, South Korea, and Japan. You’ll want to buy a new one when the first expires. Also, you could go for the 30 Day Pass to better cover your 6 weeks. Still, you have to stack multiple passes since they don’t combine or overlap.

More info:

I need to keep my phone number because I have calls I need to take and make to/from Canada.

How do I buy the pass, and how do I extend the pass? Do I buy another when the first runs out? Do I prebuy a second one before the first one runs out?

Thanks!

You buy the second one when the first on runs out.

Thanks Robert,

I didn't know there was a 30 day pass.

Their website says : available in 7, 14 or 30 consecutive days depending on the destination. I just checked, and it’s not available for Asia. If you don’t need to use your phone while away, what I recommend is to get a SIM card in Asia and keep your Canadian number on dual-SIM. Then with your Asian SIM you can use data, text and call while away in Asia.

There is no 30 day Asia pass.  I was just in Japan for 3.5 weeks.

What you will need to do is re-add the travel pass on the when it expires.  Once the travel pass is off your account you can re-add it.

In the past it was recommended to re-add the pass on the night that it expires, but reps now tell folks to add it after it expires

Hi @Michaelmmmm, on the last day of the pass, you can remove the add-on from your online account and re-add it again via SMS. Here is a guide on managing your add-ons.
