I'm going to Switzerland and am considering purchasing the 30-day Easy Roam Travel Pass for Europe. The pass says it provides unlimited talk and text, and I can use the data included in my monthly plan. I have the following questions:

  1. Does unlimited talk including both incoming and outgoing calls within Switzerland and to and from Canada?
  2. What number will callers from Switzerland need to dial to reach me, i.e. do they need to dial 001 ahead of my ten digit number as they would when I am in Canada?
  3. What number will callers from Canada need to dial to reach me? Just my 10 digit number as usual?
  4. What do I need to dial to call Canada (do I need to include the 001)?
  5. What do I need to dial to make a call within Switzerland (do I need start with 011 41 then they area code as I would from within Canada, or is 0 + area code + number sufficient as it would be from a Swiss phone)?

  1. Yes, the Easy Roam Travel Pass does include calls to and from Canada and the destination country. It does not include calls to other countries, which will incur long-distance charges.
  2. Callers from European numbers will need to first dial the + sign or 00 for the international access code, 1 for the country code, followed by your number.
  3. That is correct.
  4. You may want to try dialling the + sign with the country code.
  5. The + sign with the country code should be sufficient.

  1. Does unlimited talk including both incoming and outgoing calls within Switzerland and to and from Canada?

YES

  1. What number will callers from Switzerland need to dial to reach me, i.e. do they need to dial 001 ahead of my ten digit number as they would when I am in Canada?
  2. What number will callers from Canada need to dial to reach me? Just my 10 digit number as usual?

For others to reach you, they just need to call your Canadian number like usual, not different than when you were in Canada.

  1. What do I need to dial to call Canada (do I need to include the 001)?

Good question.  If you call Canada, you should be able to connect if the number you dial has the +1 in front of the 10 digit number.

If for some reason that doesn’t work, then yes you will need to dial the 001

  1. What do I need to dial to make a call within Switzerland (do I need start with 011 41 then they area code as I would from within Canada, or is 0 + area code + number sufficient as it would be from a Swiss phone)?

0 + area code + number should suffice.

Only if it fails, do I recommend you try to the 011 41 way
