Ok, so for a brand new number that's only 5 days old, it's already getting spam. How? There has been one call and maybe six texts on the entire phone.
It's a new phone!

The spammer just called number based on the number sequence. Their system didn’t know your number was new or not. It was unlucky that your new number got one. I personally had 5,6 calls per week.
Anyway, I would recommend you avoid publicly posting your personal number. Keep your personal information private.
Koodo has enabled a feature called “call control” to ask callers to enter a number to avoid robocall. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/call-control You can try it out to see if it works for you.
Also keep in mind that just because it’s a new number to you, doesn’t mean that the number has never been used before.
When someone cancels their line, the number goes back into circulation after a couple months.
