Scam call or Real from 1-587-405-7814

Got a call from the above number claiming to be from Koodo. They already knew my account number, balance, email and asked if the email on my account is still my email.

I hanged up immediately. Is this from Koodo or a scam call?

In that case you should be ok, you did the right thing. It’s too bad that this is a common thing that still happens 😅

If you’re still concerned at all or receive calls from Koodo in future, as mentioned you can always schedule a call with a rep and they can confirm the conversation / offer from your account notes. If the call is done by a real rep, a note must always be left on the account when they make the call. 🙂

This is likely a scam. You made the right choice by hanging up.

If in doubt, you can always schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and ask the rep about the offer you were given. They can confirm it for you. https://Koo.do/Chat

This was probably a scam call. Koodo will usually reach out to you using a 1-800 number and won’t confirm your account details with you unless you agree to purchase a new product. When they call, they will only confirm your name and say the reason for the call (usually a sales call and then it goes from there).

To confirm, did you provide any personal details besides what they had? If not you should be ok but it may not hurt to change your Koodo self serve password to be safe.

They already knew my account number, balance, email and asked if the email on my account is still my email.

The fact they have this info is very concerning.  I suggest requesting a callback and speak with a rep to note on your account that this info is available to someone else and see if they can add a layer of protection to your account (ex.  restricting ordering of devices, and blocking sim swaps or porting, etc).

For added safety, you may want to change the password to your email and ensure all other instances are logged out
