Phone not sending or receiving texts

Switched from Rogers to Koodo over a week ago. Phone is still not sending or receiving text messages. iMessages work fine. Have tried restarting phone, airplane mode, resetting network settings multiple times , still doesn’t work. Went to the Koodo booth, they couldn’t help me. Have tried scheduling two callbacks and no Koodo rep has called. I’ve called the Koodo support number with no success. Help?! Thanks!

Did you port your number over?

Does your Rogers sim still work?

When you ported over, did your Rogers sim get a confirmation text where you need to text back yes?

Hi Dennis,

thanks for the reply. No I didn’t port my number over but wasn’t aware that I had to? Is this something I have to do through Rogers? I never did get the text message from Rogers.

I’m not sure if my Rogers SIM still works? My phone now says my carrier is Koodo…

Thanks

How did you sign up for koodo?

When did you get your koodo sim? And did you get an email confirmation for self serve (do not Create one on your own, I'm just asking)?

I signed up at a Koodo Kiosk. The rep said I should receive a text from Rogers but I never did. I got an email telling me to sign up for self serve.
Still no luck getting through to a rep 😩

I might try calling Rogers?

It seems to me your number may not be ported successfully. Are you able to borrow someone else’s phone number? If so, schedule a callback through Koodo Assist to that number instead. Once you speak to a rep, you can ask them to direct your request to someone on the porting team. https://Koo.do/Chat

I would also suggest you to reinsert your Rogers SIM card. If you did not port your number at all, your service with Rogers should still be working. You can make the port transfer yourself on your Self-Serve account. Follow these steps at the link. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/moving-your-number-koodo

Hi @APear

When signing up for Koodo services, a phone number is assigned automatically.

In order to initiate the port request and bring your phone number over, you can use the steps here: https://koo.do/PortIn

You will need the Rogers sim card to confirm the transfer request.

Once done, it may take up to  4 hours for the transfer to complete and have your number fully functional on the Koodo network.
