Yeah usually not, most of the time it tends to be pretty even experience however in the case where signal is limited it tends to be a lot more aggressive on who gets priority as that’s when it matters. It also is heavily dependent on which company owns the tower and the renting agreements between the owner of the tower and the brand that you own.

But it makes sense as those with the premium brands pay more money for that priority. Otherwise, there really wouldn’t be much benefit with the premium brands besides the usual differences.

That's the exact thing i was told by TELUS REP & ot makes sense too. If I stay with koodo then i'm just wasting my money by paying to them. At least with TELUS i'm getting better deal plus perfect signal as the rep checked out everything with my postal code. In case if unfortunately TELUS doesn't work for ne then i've other options too I.e. Rogers, Bell, Freedom etc. But I've already ordered TELUS SIMS & made my mind to port from Koodo to Telus maximum by 1st October once i get sim in hand.

My brother sim get proper reception all the time as he has Telus line and mine doesn't work even if I try to put my sim in different phone.

Maybe it is my brain not understanding, but are you saying that You tried your brother’s phone standing in the same place as you and he gets reception and you dont?

You have not explicitly said this, and I want to make sure there is no misunderstanding.

As he may have good reception in his residential area or in your residential area, but unless you are together in the same room at the same time, I am not confident that his Telus reception is much better than your koodo reception

Me & my brother live in same house and for his Telus reception there isn't any issue.

Thank you for the clarification.

Have you tried his sim in your phone and your sim in his phone to see if the issue follows the sim?

TBH I didn't try his Sim in my phone but ik there's no issue with our phone as its updated android S 24 ULTRA & S 23 ULTRA . MOREOVER trouble shootinhlg & resetting has been done by koodo but nothing changed. All these problems started two months back as in the beginning it was only data then slowly slowly it comes with calls too and now day per day it was getting worse.

Since you're already porting to Telus, the Telus SIM will answer this for you. Pop it into the same S24 Ultra in the same spots at home. If it works fine there, the problem was on the Koodo line itself, not the phone. If you still get the same drops, it's the phone and switching carriers won't fix it, so it's worth knowing before you settle in.

In the meantime, turn on Wi-Fi calling so calls and texts go through at home: https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/wifi-calling

Also, don't cancel your Koodo lines yourself. Just activate the Telus SIMs with a port request for your numbers and the Koodo lines close automatically once the port goes through.

I always turn wi - fi calling & followed other instructions too which was given by KOODO but still situation wasn't improving then i decided to port. I won't cancel koodo lines as you said, I was told same thing by telus rep who's helping me out for all this process. I'm 110 % sure its not due to my phone's because they are updated as well as i leave my residence area i.e. Street, intersection i get full reception on same phones.

I'm surprised wifi calling didn't resolve things. Was it because wifi calling couldn't activate?

That makes zéro sense VoWIFI didn't fix it. That circumvents the tower issue entirely.

I agree.  It makes me think this may be a phone issue.  But it is also weird that it happened on both your phones on your 2 lines.  And right after a plan change.

There is definitely some confusing results you are seeing.  I hope moving to Telus fixes the issue, but I would try to moderate any expectations

TELUS mailed today my sim cards and I can't wait to port now. I called them today and request to check reception strength in my area and it's 5G PLUS for TELUS

Prior to porting, try your sim in your phone to try the reception first
