I am getting Voice mails but my phone did not ring. There is no phone number related to the Voice mail and when I retrieve the VM it is Silent. This is happening 2x per day or more. I have an iPhone 6S. It started yesterday. When I look at my phone bill details there is no number only showing me retrieving the VM.
When you retrieve your voicemail, it should say the date and time and number the voicemail is from. Does it not say the number?
No number. The VM just shows up. No phone ring …. just a notification I have a VM and it is there but No phone number related to the VM. I also checked my billing. Silent VM seems to be a thing and they say to call my Service provider. Thought I would check this forum first.
So when you check your voicemail, it says the date and time and when it gets to the number it doesnt say anything?
Silent VM seems to be a thing and they say to call my Service provider.
Who is “they”?
There is no date and time for the VM. I get a notification and it disappears as usual. I go to VM icon that now has a red dot and I hit it and the screen says Call Voicemail in a box to click or hit with my finger. There is NO Information about the VM it just shows up. When I play it ….there is 10 or 20 seconds of silence. So I delete it. “They” , when I google search on the subject I can read the head lines and did not notice who wrote it. So likely another forum but NOT koodo.
When you check a legit voicemail (like when you leave a voicemail for your self with another phone) does it say the date, time and phone number who called?
During playback of the phantom voicemail message, press 5 on your phone’s dialpad. This should reveal the phone number that left you the voicemail message. Provided the phone number is not private or unknown, this will allow you to write down the phone number for blocking purposes. If you’ve already deleted the voicemail message, this will not work, but keep this in mind if it happens again.
Thanks I have the number now. So do I create a contact with that number then block it somehow?
To block someone from leaving a voicemail, you need to enable Call Control in your self serve and then add them to the blocked list.
If you just block the number on your phone, the call wont ring on your phone and will automatically direct them to your vociemail
Thanks very much. Learn something every day. I tried adding numbers on Call Control but the numbers do not seem to populate in a list . I add the number but would expect to see it populate under Blocked Callers etc. Not intuitive.
