Just ordered this phone for a second user and noticed it does not come with VoLTE for any plan.
2 questions:
Will they even notice?
&
Any idea if Koodo plans to enable VoLTE support in the future?
In a rural area (Gulf Islands, BC) with only a Rogers tower so far, but rumour has it, co-location in the works. The days of constant usa roaming are gone, thankfully :-)

Did you order from Koodo/Telus? if so, the device is VoLTE compatible already.
Without VoLTE the phone will still use LTE for data, but calls fall back to the 3G network. Day to day your second user probably won't notice much, as long as calls work. Where it matters is the 3G shutdown that starts March 1, 2027. At that point calling on a non certified device goes away. There is also a 3G usage price increase that can show up on the bill for devices the network doesn't read as 4G.
Koodo typically has to certify a model before provisioning VoLTE on the device, and there's no way to know in advance which models get added. I would run the IMEI through the compatibility checker to see how the network actually reads it https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/how-to-use-volte

Its an unfortunate thing that Telus seems to not commit to allowing any device to provision with VoLTE. Sometimes people report non Canadian devices get it, sometimes people report its gone again. It really bothers me personally, especially since they started charging $3 a month for 3G voice use and 3G networks are being shut down soon. It will effectively block non - Canadian model phones entirely if they don't remove the whitelist. Public Mobile has been reported to keep a More strict list, but I don't see much for Koodo and how its different.
Let us know what the comparability checker says for your phone.
