Question

Lifetime warranty valid?

Hi folks,

Looking at buying the CPO iPhone 15 (128GB) and paying outright. I'm not planning to take a Koodo plan — I'd put it on Public Mobile instead.

Before I order, a few things I need confirmed:

  1. Is the Limited Lifetime Warranty still fully valid if the phone's on Public Mobile and I'm not a Koodo customer? If so, how do I file a claim?
  2. The page mentions a 2-day security lock to the Koodo network — does that still auto-clear after 2 days if there's no Koodo SIM in the phone?
  3. Does the lifetime warranty cover liquid or accidental damage, or only defects?
  4. What's the minimum guaranteed battery health on a CPO device?

A written yes/no on #1 would really help — that's the deciding factor for me.

Thanks!

The lifetime warranty looks to be an error.  It is just a limited warranty.

Note that you need to be a koodo customer to purchase a certified pre-owned phone.  And you need to be a Koodo  or Telus customer for the warranty to be active as per the fine print shown below.

It does not cover Public Mobile customers. Your device needs to remain active on a Koodo or Telus plan, whether it is the one-year or the limited lifetime warranty.

The warranty does not include physical or liquid damage and only covers hardware defects. Otherwise, you will need to visit your nearest cell phone repair shop or Mobile Klinik location for an out-of-warranty repair.

There is no minimum guaranteed battery level. CPO devices are split between four different grades. It is best to get a like-new device, which are mainly returned within the 30-day period, but you can also choose between great, very good, and good. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/products/certified-pre-owned
