Koodo/Telus Voicemail Bug? Custom Greetings Not Working

I’m with Koodo  and I’ve noticed an issue when calling someone on Telus. When I reach their voicemail, I only hear the generic system greeting instead of their personalized one.

They’ve told me the same thing happens when they call me—no custom greeting, just the default message.

Has anyone else run into this between Koodo and Telus? Any idea what might be causing it or how to fix it?

Cross-carrier calls between Koodo and Telus sometimes play the generic system greeting instead of your custom one because of network routing quirks or iPhone Live Voicemail interference. You’ll want to try these fixes first. If you use an iPhone, go to your Phone app, tap the Voicemail tab, and toggle Live Voicemail off. This lets the Koodo voicemail take over fully, and reps confirm it fixes custom greetings. You can just also reset your voicemail greeting by dialing 1 followed by your area code and number. Record your name, greeting, and password again, then toggle between Standard, Personal, and Extended Absence to force a sync. Have a Telus friend call you to test the connection.

My wife uses a custom greeting with Koodo and it works.  Though I keep telling her to use a generic greeting she insists on using a custom greeting
