Hi, I’m currently in West Africa. I recently switched my Koodo prepaid number to postpaid, but my order is still processing and my number is not working. I need to receive security SMS from my bank and CRA. Can you please activate my line and help me get roaming service? I need to keep my current number.

Hi there,

To move to Koodo postpaid from Prepaid, you must respond to a port SMS message. You cannot do this as Koodo prepaid only works in Canada and the USA, not West Africa. To confirm the port, a Koodo prepaid rep may be able to help but it is unlikely for fraud protection reasons as you’re out of country. To transition from prepaid to postpaid, it should be done while you’re in Canada.

If you have access to a different, non-prepaid Canadian number, you can request a callback via Koodo assist and then select prepaid. From there, you can follow the chat bot prompts to schedule the callback to that Canadian number. Note do not use your prepaid number as it will not work. You will need a Koodo prepaid reps assistance for your issue.

Alternatively, if you do not have access to another number, you can sign up for a free VoIP service such as Fongo. It will provide you a free Canadian phone number that you can use over WiFi. You can schedule the callback to this. You will need to seek assistance with a rep through either Koodo assist or through Koodo’s social media pages as opposed to the Community.

Community reps do not have access to assist with prepaid accounts, even if switching to postpaid. Koodo’s correct social media pages, Facebook and X, can be found by clicking the associated logos at the bottom of this page and sending them a private message, they may be able to help as well.

Are you able to log in to your Self-Serve account? If so, I presume the transfer is already underway. In the meantime, I have flagged a rep to help you out.

Hi there, @UserSaAM .

Are you currently connected with the e-mail that was used to activate the Koodo account?

I verified and there’s an account associated with the e-mail you’re currently using, but it ‘s in a tentative state - this means there are no services or number associated.

Your order for a line and services needs to be completed in order for the account to hold an active status. Did you receive any confirmation by email regarding the order?

Hi, thanks for your message. I haven't received a confirmation for the order—what can you do?
