Koodo Internet Outages

Hi Folks,

Over the past week-ish my home internet service has been having outages every evening. My WiFi is working, just no internet access. Unplugging and reconnecting the modem seems to reset the behaviour. 

Has anyone else been experiencing this? Koodo is so hard to contact I wanted to ask here first. Honestly this is likely pushing us to switch to another provider.

Hi

That pattern — WiFi up but no internet, and a modem restart temporarily fixes it:  usually means the modem is trying (and failing) to finish an update overnight.

Next time it drops, check the LAN light on the modem: a blinking green light means it's mid-firmware-update, and it's best to leave it plugged in and let it finish rather than unplugging it. If it's looping like that every evening, the update likely isn't completing cleanly, and a factory reset of the modem often clears it up.

It may be an issue with your modem. I would suggest you to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and ask a rep to arrange a tech visit for a modem replacement. https://Koo.do/Chat

What were the LED’s showing on the equipment? As that can help diagnose your problem. Descriptions of your equipment LED indicators and troubleshooting steps can be found in the link. Understanding your modem & router (ports & LEDs) | Koodo Mobile

When you follow the suggested steps for the displayed lights, does that resolve the problem? As suggested above, you can also try and use the Koodo internet app as that can help. If the troubleshooting steps don’t resolve the problem first, I would go ahead with a callback as the issue maybe the equipment itself or your connection outside the home.
