I’ve just bought two WF723CA home phone hubs to upgrade from WF721s. Taking my Dad’s sim card from the old hub and putting it into the new one is leaving me with red blinking lights which, according to the user manual, means SIM card issues. The old sim card was a nano housed in extra plastic to fit the 721. Do I have to go buy a new SIM card and register it through self serve on my Dad’s Koodo account for his phone number and phone service to work properly?

How to make an old SIM card work using WF723CA home phone hub?

Hi
- I was just coming back online to post here; thank you for addressing my issue!
I:
- Walked to the Koodo booth at Saint Laurent mall nearby
- Bought two new 5G sim cards
- At home, swapped the sims on both mine and my father’s Koodo accounts
- After waiting around 20 minutes, installed the new cards and waited out those red lights, which turned green after the devices started up plus a short period of time afterwards
- Successfully made a phone call to someone outside our home
- Successfully made phone calls from my phone to my dad’s and vice-versa
Thank you Oliver for your efforts, they’re appreciated. All is well with 3G left behind and current phone service intact.
