I removed my SIM from the phone, tested the sim with a phone originally from another provider (which didn't work) and when I put the card back in it’s native phone, the phone didn’t recognize any sim was present

Try inserting again after confirming its the right way in (although it should be slotted such that you cannot do it backwards but you never know) and then restarting. Let us know if it's still a issue and more info like which phone.
