Let me flag a rep for you to see if they can put Port Fraud Protection on your account.

I recommend changing your Self Serve password to something strong that you don't use anywhere else.

Also, how did you find out someone is trying to port your number? Did you get a text asking you to reply YES to confirm a transfer? If so, don't reply to it at all. That text is the confirmation step of a port request, so never reply YES to one you didn't start yourself.

If you think more of your personal info may be out there, this guide is worth going through as well https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/privacy-topics/identities/identity-theft/guide_idt/

I got a call from a best buy employee asking if i was coming back with proper ID.  She explained to me someone with my name and last name came in gave my number and was trying to port my number to Bell.

She sounded very panicked. So i believe she herself wasnt a scammer and her trying to close a sale and calling my number back gave me the heads up.

Unfortunatly I can't access that ether. Hence why Im at the moment not impressed with Koodo.

Id like to prevent this ASAP.

It is the weekend, so it does take a while for the reps to respond back. Alternatively, you can try to send a message to a rep on Facebook Messenger or Twitter. It is not a live chat, but they should get back to you during business hours. https://m.me/Koodo

So let me get this straight.  If someone is getting an attemped of  fraud on them. And it so happens to be on  a weekend.

The person needs no reach out to twitter or facebook...

Not through calling the company or even use their message board (which is already insane to me).

No no nooooo twitter and face book....

You are aware scams happen extremly fast right?? Im so far lucky (touch wood) that it seems their attempt hasent worked yet.

This is insanly bad service.

You have already unsuccessfully tried to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist, so those are the other two available options. Unfortunately, there are no reps available on the Community at this time, but I have already flagged one for you.

I havent unsuccessfully tried anything. It is Koodo who hasent done anything. 2 no show call backs and now a community board that also failed.

Koodo doesn't care to help during fraud attempts.

In that case, you may want to consider heading to your nearest Koodo store for further assistance with the Port Fraud Protection. https://www.koodomobile.com/en/find-nearest-store

If it is an emergency, you can call the local police. Initiating porting for a number is not that difficult though. They just need your name and account number (or your IMEI). How they got it is another issue. Those information might be leaked somewhere.

The current protection system worked on your line and blocked the first attempt. I would recommend you monitor the situation and make sure the passwords to your bank and other essential services are secure.

Are you referring to the Best Buy store? If so, that is an authorized dealer and not an official Koodo store. There should be one at Bayshore Shopping Centre, St. Laurent Shopping Centre, and Les Promenades Gatineau.

Regarding Koodo response: As MilkyWay mentioned, it is late at night, so you might have to wait until tomorrow. I wouldn’t be too worried since your line is still protected.

We have already explored all options.

If you are physically unable to go to a Koodo store, you will either need to schedule another callback through Koodo Assist to speak with a rep or wait for a rep to respond back to your post.

As mentioned before, you can also try to send a message on Facebook Messenger or Twitter for a potentially quicker response.

Hello @Hanso We’re sorry to hear that the situation is less than ideal, to say the least. Unfortunately we could not authenticate the account based on the log in method you used here.

In order to authenticate, you can use the Self Serve method when you log in here, over the community. If by any reason you cannot access the Self Serve account, you can try to reset the password through the Forgot Password ? option.

Can you let us know if you were able to get in touch with a representative by now ?
