Question

eSim Shows Wrong Number

I ported my number months ago from Public Mobile to Koodo. My service works correctly with the correct number, but my Samsung phone's SIM Manager and About Phone still show temp # that was assigned before port. Could someone refresh my eSIM profile or issue a new eSIM so the correct phone number is stored on the eSIM?"

Have you tried to reset the network settings on your phone? Did you restart your phone?

Hey

Since your calls and texts are working with the correct number, this is almost certainly just a display cache on the phone: Samsung's SIM Manager / About Phone is still showing the temporary number assigned during the port. The line itself is fine.

Try to restart the phone so it re-registers on the network — the temp number might clear after that. Importantly, don't delete the eSIM profile yourself. If that doesn’t help, you could wait for 1,2 days to see if that can do anything

By the way, Did you switch using the "fast switch" option, out of curiosity?

This is a common glitch I have seen in the community.

It’s just a visual glitch that tends to fix it self over time.  I wouldnt be too worried about it

Thanks for the replied everyone. So far yes the device has been restarted multiple times, network settings have been reset many times. I made the switch in January and didnt port my number until a week and a half after.  So definitely my temp number was assigned to the esim until I made the switch to my preferred number. The actual provisioning is working correctly. I just need to have my actual eSim profile refreshed by someone from kodoo. Thanks.

Hi @gervaisma

We could refresh the settings from our end, however, we cannot guarantee that the phone number will get updated on your phone. In some similar cases, it worked, however in some other it didn’t.

If you want us to give it a try, please turn your phone off for 10 minutes and let us know here when your turn it off. Thank you!

Can you give an eSim replacement? That should work for sure..

I would recommend you wait for 2,3 days and see if that fixes itself. If that doesn’t work at the time, you can try to switch eSIM in selfserve.

Ok I can wait, its been like this since January and just driving me nuts now. However this is affecting my messaging as well, not just the displayed number. Android Messages creates a second conversation using the wrong number that is displayed on my phone when some non-RCS users send me MMS messages. So for my real number, the eSIM profile appears to have the wrong MSISDN. I need a brand-new eSIM profile created, not just a network refresh.

We hear you @gervaisma

Unfortunately, we have limited access here on the community when it comes to further troubleshooting, however, we recommend scheduling a call back with the virtual assist. and speaking with the tehnical support team.

According to this link, you may need to change your number on Google Messages or Samsung Messages to reset your RCS settings. This might help update your number.
