I just read on that scammers are contacting people pretending to be from legit phone companies saying they could do a low cost upgrade on cell phones.  Please be cautious http://www.am800cklw.com

That is the new cell phone upgrade scam. https://www.ctvnews.ca/windsor/article/warning-about-fake-upgrade-offers-for-cell-phones-opp

It is best advised for people to follow up on official channels and confirm with the service providers to ensure that it is an actual deal. It is usually too good to be true and it is too late when they find out it is fake and the customer ends up footing the bill for the phone.

If it does happen to you, make sure to report the incident to the local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, monitor your bank and credit card statements, and place a fraud alert on your credit report with Equifax and TransUnion.
