Can't connect to any network overseas

I’m currently overseas in Israel and cannot connect my Koodo sim to any of the mobile providers.

My phone works well with a local SIM.

I don’t have Easy Roam enabled as I just want to receive an urgent OTP SMS.

 

I tried restarting my phone multiple times as indicated in other similar questions but it doesn’t help. When selecting to try to automatically connect to a network is just fails after a while.

I assumed you are a postpaid customer. You would need to enable roaming to receive incoming text. Otherwise the phone wouldn't connect  https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/easy-roam

Are you sure? The instructions say that you DON'T need to use Easy Roam.

I didn't say you needed easyroam. BUT, you need to add it then remove the easyroam addon and keep the voice roaming option only. Koodo doesn't offer a separate addon in selfserve. 

Got it, when trying to enable it I get:
“Your plan is not eligible to be changed at this time.”

Any idea what to do?
