What happened to my chat record?

I was misinformed that a price increase did not apply to me.  The increase was added to my account and I took it up with a chat rep.  After sending an irrelevant reply, they apologized for the error and offered to apply a one month credit of the increase.  I delayed responding because I was away without my credentials (need to repeat them over and over).  I finally found out how to get a record of the chat and the last part isn’t there any more.

I’m very disappointed with Koodo.

Out of curiosity, are you on a tab?  Having a tab is the only way to avoid price increases of the plan

Hi @StephenR, we saw the note on the account about the agent promising to add a $5 credit for this month. We’ve added it and you should see it reflected in your total due in your self serve as well.

Below is Georgia’s  message as it appears in email.  I take offence to “Go have a look”.  What’s the point of looking if you can make conversations disappear as you did to my chat.  Should I go looking for more wrong answers to questions?

I hope the reply from Georgia will stay on the record and be true.

Hi StephenR,

Georgia Koodo mentioned you in What happened to my chat record?

Go have a look!

Also, the question was “What happened to my chat record?”, not give me your interpretation of what it said.

I don’t often see customer support chats retained if you leave them. At most I’ve seen an option to request the transcript be emailed to you. If you want to ensure retaining chat history, I ‘d suggest keeping screen shots.

Threads are almost never deleted on here, but they do get occasionally archived and closed. It should definitely remain visible here for the time it would take to resolve this concern.

Gerogia didn’t merely say go look, but advised to check for the credit being applied properly.

Maybe this is why I think chats would be preserved:

“Click here to see your active and closed conversations with a Koodo rep.”

Also the first half of my chat is visible, but not the last half with new information.

Yes expert messaging chats should be preserved.

But sometimes there are glitches (ex. the last statement, etc was not able to save or the window was closed too soon or the save got stuck, etc).  I always recommend that screenshots be taken for important info, ex. promises for deals or credits.

I take offence to “Go have a look”.  What’s the point of looking if you can make conversations disappear as you did to my chat.  Should I go looking for more wrong answers to questions?

I can see the “go have a look” statement from both sides.  Due to your initial issue being the chat disappearing as your main question, in my opinion it was not the best choice of word.

I also see it from regular conversation point of view that this statement was a positive figure of speech to end the message on a good note.

Personally I think the important part here is that you are made whole with the promised pricing or credit.  And from the sounds of things this has occurred.  Can you confirm this?

No, the piece of me that trusted Koodo and its representatives is missing.
