Still Being Charged ~$19 Every Month After Cancelling My Koodo Number in February

Hi Koodo Community,

I’m hoping someone from Koodo can help me resolve this issue.

I cancelled my Koodo phone number/service back in February, and I had already paid all of my previous and final bills. However, I am still being charged approximately $19 every month, even though I no longer have an active phone number or service with Koodo.

I have been trying to contact Koodo to find out what these charges are for, but I have not been able to get a proper response. I even went to a Koodo store in Surrey for help, but the representative there was also unable to explain why I am still being charged.

At this point, I would like Koodo to please investigate:

  1. Why am I still being charged every month after cancelling my service in February?

  2. What exactly is the ~$19 monthly charge for?

  3. How can I stop these charges immediately?

  4. Can the charges taken after my cancellation be reviewed and refunded?

I have already paid everything I owed before cancelling, so I am concerned that these charges have continued for several months without an explanation.

I would really appreciate it if a Koodo representative could help me resolve this as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, that is the best way to sort it out. You can type in “Schedule a callback” to prompt the chat bot to list the available times to speak with a rep. Once you receive a callback, you can request a refund, but there are no guarantees.

How did you cancel your account? Did you schedule a callback through Koodo Assist to speak with a rep? Have you logged in to your Self-Serve account to see if you received a final bill?

I cancelled my Koodo service via koodo portal i am not unsure its long time ago. But my sim afterwards didn’t work so I thought its cancelled. At that time, I paid all of my outstanding/final bills and believed the account was completely closed.

Yes, i have requested them to call back but no reply. I also visited a Koodo store in Surrey, but the representative there couldn’t explain why I’m still being charged around $19 every month.

My main concern is why these recurring charges are still happening several months after my number was cancelled/ported out. I would also like to know how I can get these charges stopped and reviewed for a refund.

That means you did not property cancel your line. There is currently no way to do it on your Self-Serve account. You are supposed to speak with a rep to proceed with your cancellation.

Can you please confirm if you actually ported out your number? Which carrier are you currently using? Are you able to provide a screenshot of your text message confirmation of the port transfer?

To resolve this issue, I would suggest you to schedule a callback through Koodo Assist and reach out to a rep as soon as possible. https://Koo.do/Chat
