Hi there,

to confirm when you check your Koodo self-serve what does it say the roaming was caused by? You can do this by following the steps in the link below.

Note: You can be charged roaming not only for data usage. You’re charged a roaming fee if you use any of your plan features which includes calling, texting, checking your voicemail, and data. The only thing that is free is to receive a text message that does not require data to do so.

Hi Oliver,

I moved back home so took the sim out when I left Canada. So I feel I shouldn’t be charged at all for roaming, How do I go about getting this fee removed from my account.

Thanks,
Deirdre

Just to confirm, when you “took the sim out” did you physically remove it?

As well, did you ever receive a roaming notification on your device that you were roaming?

Hi Dinh,

I switched this phone to airplane mode and then when I got to home I switched sims to an Irish simcard.

I had my data turned off on my layovers and connected to the airport wifi. I never called or text when overseas on my canadian sim. I did get a notification saying welcome to ‘icelnd’ and ‘ireland’ when i arrived but never used the phone and switched to my irish sim then.

Thanks,

Deirdre

Hi there @Deirdre123  From what can be verified, the international Easy Roam fee was triggered by mobile data usage while outside Canada.

If you want to further investigate the fee, you can schedule a callback through our Koodo Assist or send us a private message over Social Media, through the links at the bottom right of this page.
