I live close to the US border in BC, have not travelled across border but have gained some hefty roaming fees, I’m looking to have them reversed from both phone lines connected to my account. Thank you!!

Hello

You don't have to cross the border for this to happen — living close to it is enough. Near the US line your phone can latch onto an American tower and trigger Easy Roam even though you never left BC. It comes up quite often here.

Could you download the PDF bill and check pages 3 and 4 to confirm those are the roaming fees and which dates they hit? If it was accidental roaming, Koodo will remove it. Do it soon though, disputes are only allowed within 30 days of the issued bill.

You can ask for a review yourself in Self Serve here https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/ask-us-to-review-a-charge-on-your-bill — but it only takes one charge at a time, so since it's on both lines, let me flag a rep to look at the whole account for you.

As well, to keep it from happening again near the border, turn off data roaming, and manually select Koodo in the network list instead of leaving carrier selection on automatic. More on how Easy Roam gets triggered here https://community.koodomobile.com/plans-services-232910/easy-roam-understanding-how-you-will-be-charged-while-traveling-7811296

Hello @Hannahelizabeth We verified the latest invoice and we confirmed the fees as accidental. A credit was applied, for each of the numbers, with immediate effect.

You can follow the steps mentioned by @Dinh in order to avoid future similar fees.
