Question

Paying Quebec sales tax as a non-Quebec resident

I moved from Quebec to Alberta nearly 2 years ago have just noticed that I have been paying Quebec sales tax despite the update to my address on my file when I moved.

Is there anyone specific I can talk to about this?

Thank you in advance!

They calculated tax based on the number area code not on the address of the subcribers. If you would like to be charged by Alberta tax, you have to to change your number to an Albertan one.

Changing your number may require you to choose from a plan currently available in Alberta as well. Quebec rates are more competitive, so best to investigate first.
