mistaken roaming charges

Hi, I was charged roaming fees for a call to the USA, but I was not in the US at that time.

I was on a flight traveling from Vancouver to Montreal, and I did not make any call to the US.

The record shows “To: ER/VC ROAM/VOY USA”.

Could you please investigate this and remove the charge?

Was your phone in airplane mode?

ER/VC means easy roam was triggered when you connected to a US tower and data, talk, or a sent text occurs.

You can check in self-serve the type of usage that triggered the charge. You can do this following the article below. When you do, does it specify specifically what caused the charges?

If you’re on airplane mode, you would not be charged during the flight. You can be charged for sending a text, using data, making a call, or checking voicemail. Did you do any of this during the flight?

I’ll flag a rep to confirm and assist RE the charge. For future reference, the following link explains how to adjust your phone settings that should prevent it from happening again. note that a phone restart may revert the changes:

@Dasom

This got missed, our apologies!

We have reviewed the last bill and we have been able to apply a credit for the charge since it was accidental roaming. The credit will be forwarded to your next bill.

We recommend checking the link provided by Goran above for more details about how to prevent roaming in the future.
