Many Accidental Easy Roam Charges, PLEASE REFUND


I have been abroad using a local Vodafone plan for the last few months, not using my Koodo plan AT ALL during Feb-March. Just got hit with over $200 in easy roam charges, I did not use any data from my Koodo plan during these days. ($224 to be precise)

I am deeply frustrated as this is an egregious amount for not having used the plan and having another plan activated the whole time.

Please assist!

I’ll flag a rep to assist with reviewing the charges.

You didn’t use it at all but did you have it active? Was data roaming turned on? Even if you don’t actively use it, some background processes can potentially use some:

 

You’d have to remove the roaming add-ons in self-serve or remvoe your sim card to that effect to ensure you don’t get charged. Typically just having roaming data off should be enough, but the occasional person reports still being charged.

We have looked into it and based on the bill details, the charges were triggered for calls and voicemail usage, we recommend downloading and checking the PDF bill in self serve for more details and checking the article shared by ​@Goran  above for more about how to prevent unwanted roaming charges when abroad.
