Koodo changed my plan?

I just received notification that my bill was higher than usual so I checked my self serve and it says my plan is $5 more expensive than what it is supposed to be. When I checked on my billing details I see the message “Your bill looks a little different this month. Don’t worry — we’ll walk you through what’s changed and why.” After clicking on the message it says that “$5 in rate plan charges were added”.

I did not make this change. I’m not sure what exactly happened here, does Koodo change plans without consent from the plan holder or was this possibly just an error? If someone can look into this for me and change my plan back to what it is supposed to be that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the bottom of the very last page of the bill before this plan increase? If it was a price increase there will be a notice there mentioning the increase on your next bill.

Thank you - I checked and it’s on there way near the bottom in fine print.

That is very annoying and frustrating how they’ve decided to unilaterally increase my plan and disclose it in a way that 99% of people will probably not notice until their next bill comes. I don’t personally think it’s great customer service to be increasing existing plan prices at all but if they’re going to do it at least send an email with a proper notification 😒

Thanks again for your help!

I agree. They sometimes also send a text, or include a self serve banner but they only consistent thing is the bill message and is all that is legally required.

In saying that, keep an eye out during sale periods and you may be able to switch to something cheaper again. They run sales every quarter (March, June, Sept, Dec), usually getting better towards the end of each of those months. Along with Black Friday, Christmas/Boxing Day and the occasional random flash sale.
