Impossible to get a callback

I have tried two times in the past two months to get a call-back from a live person. I am wits end with this nonsense. First opportunity I have I will be porting my four family numbers back to Bell, or, at least someplace where you can talk to a human. My son’s cellular data has been exhausted two months straight, less than half-way through each billing period. Something strange is going on. He doesn’t stream video, and he’s on a 20GB plan. I’m trying to get someone at Koodo to tell me how this happens? IOS is useless when attempting to find out which apps are using data during a time-period.

There should be a section to check for cellular data usage. You can view the data-usage statistics for an app from a current period. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/109323

As a precautionary measure, I would suggest you to turn on Low Data Mode to restrict background network use and to lower data usage. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/102433

Since you are having issues scheduling a callback, I have flagged a rep to help you out. However, they can only tell you how much data has been used for the billing period and not the actual breakdown of the data usage, which is only available on the phone.

Hi @dklaming

Just to double check, is it for the line ending in *21?

If yes, we do see high usage in some days, however, for privacy reasons, only the phone shows what apps  have used data.

Is the WiFI assist turned on in the phone settings?

Yes. *21. He can’t figure out what is sucking data. He works construction M-F and only streams music on his way to and from job site. His wi-fi assist was on, we just turned it off. However, he is in the habit of turning of his cellular data when he’s home. He has had many phone plans, never had 20 GB, has never run out of data in a billing period, nevermind half a billing period.

The data usage period on an iphone is based on when you last reset the statistics, but I recommend taking a screenshot of it prior to resetting it.  You should be able to gleam some idea of what is using data even if it hasnt been reset in a long time.

You can also download data monitoring app.  I suggest the DataFlow app
