extra payment

Hello,
I opened the app and manually paid my bill today. However, when I checked my bank account later, I noticed that the bill amount had already been automatically withdrawn from my account.
So it seems that I paid the same bill twice today. Could you please check this and let me know how the extra payment will be handled?

If you had paid twice, the extra payment will sit on your Koodo account as a credit until the next bill is due. Then your automatic payments will either be skipped, or will pay for the difference in what is owed (if any).

You can try to see if you cancel the additional payment you made with your bank as it normally takes a couple business days to process, but if you’re fine with the money just sitting on your account then you can leave it as is!

Hi there,

Any extra payments will be applied to your account as a credit; you should see this posted on your account shortly after both payments have been processed.

The credit will then be used on subsequent bills until it is used up. You can also schedule a call using Koodo assist to request a refund, however, it usually takes a while to get the refund. You’re better off having the credit used on your next bill. 

Note that pre-authorised payments usually get taken out approximately 15 days before your due date. If you’re concerned that the payment is not taken out, in future, I would wait until a couple of days before the bill is due and pay through your Koodo self-serve. When you pay that way, it applies immediately, so you won’t have a risk of missing the bill payment. 🙂
