Dispute roaming charges

I got a roaming charge for EasyRoam on m phone number 604 *****86 .

It is for US roaming on August 2, 2026.

We never left Canada. On that day, we were travelling in Northern Ontario between Wawa and Salt Ste Marie where connectivity was limited so we made a very limited use of our cell phones.

Hi

Sault Ste. Marie is right on the US border, so your phone can latch onto a Michigan tower and trigger Easy Roam even though you never crossed. That one comes up here a lot.

Has the charge shown up on an issued bill yet? If it has, download the PDF bill and check pages 3 and 4 to confirm the date and what triggered it, then submit it through Ask us to review a charge in your Self Serve https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/ask-us-to-review-a-charge-on-your-bill Accidental roaming like this normally gets credited. If the bill isn't out yet, you'll have to wait for it before you can dispute.

To keep it from happening again near the border, turn data roaming off in your phone settings and manually select Koodo in the network list instead of leaving it on automatic https://www.koodomobile.com/en/help/understanding-how-youll-be-charged-while-travelling

Thank you very much. I have submitted the request and will; update the phone settings as well. I did confirm the date and we definitely did not cross into the US over the month. So I am hoping that they will reverse the charge. I saw in other community forum threads that they have done the same in those same situations.
