Why doesn’t Koodo allow pre-authorized $10 discounts on credit card payments?

It is because credit card fees are more expensive.
This is just another version of what Telus (Koodo’s parent company) did in 2022 where they charged 1.5% fee for paying with credit cards

As Dennis mentioned, the fees are more expensive with credit cards etc. Koodo have since moved to providing a discount for pre-authorised payment via a bank account instead.
If you have an applicable plan and setup pre-authorised payment using a bank account, currently a $10 credit per line is applied to your bill. This might be worth checking out in case you are on the old discount program that is no longer available. More can be found in the link.
