I was charged for roaming today, April 4, 2026 while riding to Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island.
This has happened previously and I was forced to contact the CRTC in order to get the charge reversed.
Koodo support is basically useless as they use an AI chatbot that is incompetent at best.
I would like to hear from a representative to repeal the roaming charges before I have to contact the CRTC again ( that got a quick response the previous time).

Hi @DocJay
We have looked into the pending usage, and we don’t see a roaming charge on our end, however, do not hesitate to reply back here or start a new post once the bill is issued and we will gladly look into it.
Koodo typically gives credit in cases of accidental roaming like yours. Has the roaming fee shown up on your latest bill yet, or was it just a roaming warning SMS? If it was just a warning SMS, I recommend that you wait for the latest bill and come back here then. A rep should be able to adjust it for you.
When you are traveling near US border, in some cases, the U.S. tower has a stronger signal and can overwhelm the Koodo tower. In those cases, the best way to avoid accidental roaming fees is to turn off automatic carrier selection and manually select Koodo.
