I was charged $9,000 on my TD account even though I don't have an account with Koodo.

Just to confirm, how is the charge labelled on your TD statement, and is it really $9,000? - which is a lot for a phone bill. If it shows up as a Koodo pre-authorized payment, I would have TD revoke any pre-authorized payment tied to Koodo and report those payments as fraud, since the bank is the only one who can stop them.

Worth checking as well whether that TD account is linked to a family member's Koodo line or an old line of yours, that's the usual reason a charge shows up for someone who thinks they have no account. If you think someone opened an account using your information, schedule a callback through www.koodo.com/chat

Since it is $9000, this is very significant.

Dont waste time here especially if you have no Koodo account.  Deal with TD right away.   This is a TD issue and TD can provide advice and investigate thoroughly

I would suggest you to report this incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and file a report with your local police. https://antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/report-signalez-eng.htm

You may also want to place a fraud alert on Equifax and TransUnion to prevent any further attempts.
