Autopay

Hi

Just received my second billing since signing up for autopay. Discount was applied to my bill for signing up but it seems like the autopay has not been activated as I am being asked to pay the bill amount. Is this normal? Last month I asked and you guys said to give it one cycle. I did that but here we are. Thanks

Based on the last day of your billing cycle, the payment should come out around 25-27th of the month (roughly). If the payment doesn’t come out until the end of this month, we recommend making a manual payment to ensure the payment is posted before October 6th, and let us know here (if the autopay method didn’t work).

Hi @Eddie Marano

We have looked into it and we can see the payment was manually made before the estimated date for autopay.

The autopay method goes through approximately 15 days before the last day of the next billing cycle. For example, if the billing cycle ends on the 20th September, the bill issued on September 20th will come out around the 5th of October (it can be 1-2 days before or after)

Thanks for the reply Flo Koodo. The last payment was made manually by me, following advise on this forum to pay manually, because we couldn’t be sure the autopay would start on time and I should pay it manually to avoid late charges. I see this month, again, last month’s scenario replaying itself.

My due date is October 6. Looking at your answer suggests it may or may not come out by the date? Not sure I’m understanding the autopay part of autopay. I will not be making a manual payment this month and see what happens. Hoping Koodo will not be charging me for a late bill should autopay not kick in.

Did you signup for auto pay by bank to get the auto pay discount?

On your latest pdf ebill, do you see the auto pay discount?

This might be related to a known issue that has come up where autopay is disabled for some.

There's a thread ongoing about the issue here:

Thanks for this Goran but when I read the thread, the OP said he received an email from Koodo. I haven’t received an email so I’m assuming it’s still active?????

It might well be now if you didn't get the notification. Does it show as enabled in self-serve?

Yes, it states “ Pre-authorized payments enabled”.

It sounds like autopay is enabled and the discount is there.  You just need to wait until Koodo takes the payment.

Thanks Dennis

Guess so. It just rubs the other way to which I do things. Always pay my bill within a day or two of receiving the “your payment is due” message, well in advance of the due date, so this waiting until the last day isn’t for me.

Also, every other “quick/auto” pay I’m enrolled in provided me with a date of withdrawal so I know what is happening, That is not the case here (at least I haven’t seen anything telling me otherwise) and I don’t know whether it’s going to be withdrawn or not and that isn’t for me either.

Going to have to show some patience and let things play out.

Its at least not the last day. Payment is taken pretty consistently 1-2 weeks prior to the actual due date. But I get the idea that's still a couple of weeks for you.

When it's working properly it takes payment on the same time of the month, but it's just not announced to you exactly when. You see the pattern basically once it's going

Thanks Goran. Do you know if they send an email telling you they have withdrawn the payment?

They do not unfortunately. (Or at least not in my experience).
I have alerts set up through my bank so they notifiy my when it’s paid instead.
