I have question about the eSim..
I am using iPhone, according to apple web site, i can convert the regular sim (in use, not the brand new) to eSim without buy any eSim voucher. Also that it mention that i can do it another way around. ( but i am sure that did we need the non active sim card).
convert your physical SIm to an eSim on the same iphone
It make me so confusing,
I hope the expert can help me out.

According to their website that's only something that some carriers support.
That's not something that Koodo does. You would have to purchase an esim voucher.

Also they mention about the carrier app.. And koodo doesn’t have any app.

Its also a US article. I've never heard of this from any of the carriers in Canada so I've got a feeling it's just an Americna thing.
I can confirm completely though that Koodo doesn't support it. You would have to buy an esim voucher to use an esim with Koodo
