the short version - my voicemail is not working, koodo says it should be working. yet no one can leave a message, and i cannot retrieve the messages.

the long version - My friends and family cannot leave me a voicemail.  When they call me, it either goes to a busy type signal or “this person is not available” type message.

I am currently out of country (in Mexico). I checked my voicemail about 10 days ago by calling my number (from a different phone in Mexico) and entering my password when my voicemail answered. My mailbox was empty at that time.

Yesterday was the first day I tried to use my koodo sim in Mexico. The first call I tried to make was to my voicemail by pressing 1.  The call failed due to ‘call barring’ which I understand might be a koodo hates samsung sort of thing (still under review).  Hopefully they will refund my easyroam charge from yesterday as I was unable to receive an important phone call due to the voice issues on my easyroam. I then assumed not being able to access voicemail might be related to the roaming so I waited until today to try again.

I called my phone number from a different phone, just like I did 7 days ago, but now it still rings into a busy type signal, or the customer not available at this time.  I tried pressing * just in case it would allow me into my voicemail but alas no.

Please help. This is my first month on Koodo, not a great start. And I’m not back in Canada for another 3.5 weeks.  The callback option wont work as I dont want to put my Koodo sim card back on or I’ll get another $15 easy roam charge.

The agent trying to help me yesterday in my callback was great, but could not find an answer to why the phone couldnt call out or text out.  Today, the facebook chat agent says nothing shows wrong internally on my voicemail and that she will reach out to tech (admitting not sure how long it will take to get an answer.

Not much more can be done here. You mentioned a rep will reaxh out to technical support so I would just follow up on that. I could flag a rep for you to follow up on if a tech support ticket was opened though if you like. Or check in a couple days.

So, my voice-mail has miraculously returned. Now to find the answer to roaming and Samsung (mentioned briefly in my main post). Do I need to buy a cheap second phone to use my koodo card out of country? Research shows it is likely a samsung/koodo issue. Telus worked fine just last month before I switched to koodo.

Any recommendations?
