I'm unable to activate my wifi calling. I'm on wifi and have cell service when activating. Once I leave service and drive back to my home, (which has no cell service, but has wifi), I recieve a message along the line of "unable to activate wifi calling"

I downloaded a third party app and when I go to the settings on the app, the voip function is not able to be turned on. Their trouble shooting page says when this happens it is because your service provider doesn't support voice over wifi calling or because they ha e it turned off on your account.

I have a post payed plan and when I look at my features on the koodo self serve website it says I have voice over wifi feature for $0.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Are you a postpaid customer?

Regarding the phone was it a Canadian model? Can you also go into self-serve, check the add-on area to see if you had the VoLte access add-on in your add-on list?

Yes I am a postpaid customer

Its a canadian model bought at koodo.

self-serve says i have the VoLte access add-on in my add-on

I am little confused. So you managed to activate WiFi Calling when you got good cellular signal and wifi? was there any error showing up at that time? I just didn’t work when you got home?

can you try to turn on wifi calling and test when you had both wifi and cellular signal? Turn on airplane mode should trigger wifi calling.  If it works, the issue could be the wifi network at home.

Yeah, I don't get any error message when activating wifi calling while I'm in town, with both wifi and cell service. It's not until I get home on the wifi that I get the error message.

I have bell fibre internet at home so I'm not sure if that's the issue, but I will try your suggestion tomorrow and report back here. Thanks.

If it was Bell, you might want to change the DNS of the router, Telus wifi calling FAQ page asked user to change the DNS server if there was issue https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/wifi-calling-faq

Thanks. I changed the dns server and it seemed to fix the issue.
