unable to send/receive texts after porting

Hello, I have done all the troubleshooting(reset network settings, device up to date etc) but still unable to send texts or receive them. I also cannot send or receive iMessage to my number. The number does not validate in the messages section after the port, I have called customer care and they claim no issue. I’m sure there is an issue somewhere as this was working perfectly fine on Fido. We will be trying a new SIM to hope it helps. Can you suggest or help set up a call back? Koodo Assist will not connect to a chat I’ve been trying for days.

How long ago did your port? It’s standard for a cellphone port to take up to a few hours before service fully works. (I see you say you’ve been trying for days to schedule a callback so I assume enough time has passed there but just want to confirm).

Are texts or iMessages not working? Or both?
Is calling and data working okay?

Have you tried toggling off and on iMessage in your phone settings to restart the process?


How long ago did your port? It’s standard for a cellphone port to take up to a few hours before service fully works. (I see you say you’ve been trying for days to schedule a callback so I assume enough time has passed there but just want to confirm).

Are texts or iMessages not working? Or both?
Is calling and data working okay?

It is both! Calls work, data works! Just no texts nor iMessage. When going into the messages it says “activation failed” but regular texts also do not come through nor send. It has been a few weeks, things worked initially and then in the last 2 weeks it stopped working.

Yes, unfortunately didn’t work either. Even contacted Apple and they didn’t have any help

Alright so if texts aren’t working then we can forget about the iMessage side for now because the one would likely be causing the iMessage activation to fail.

Yes it is already an eSIM 😭

I’m thinking maybe going to a new physical SIM just to reset it all may help, it’s an attempt at something

Can you try disabling and enabling your eSIM to see if that works?
