Did it only happen to only one customer?
as well, which phone are you using? if it is an iphone, is iMessage turned on?
Only one customer that I am aware of. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I decided to create a second contact with the cell number only for texting, hoping that this will help. I am using an iPhone, iMessage is one, she is using a Samsung. It is so very strange, and I have never seen this before.

The issue could be from the phone at other end. Have you asked the person to turn on both MMS and RCS? I think you sent her either an iMessage or MMS and her phone couldn’t receive it. The carrier then proceed to send her a notification of a MMS or iMessage.
I am not sure . My phone says the text message that went to her email was sent SMS. She later sent me a text ( to tell me it went to email ) it indicates it was sent (RCS)
